NEWS & UPDATES
Aug 1 - I am home celebrating my 23rd anniversary with the lovely Roxanne. But I have time to excitedly mention the wonderful collection of photos I was lent from Jackie Peterson. This will include the only known photos of the long - forgotten, but highly - significant Sheldon Springs, VT track. Below is one sample, a shot of Jackie, in his sprinter, flying around what he thinks is the Green Mountain Speedway in Sheldon. Sadly, we recently lost one of my good friends and a wonderful help with New York photos - Mike Watts. God Speed, Mike - it was pretty obvious from the tributes at Airborne Saturday night that you are sorely missed.

Jackie can describe this old sprinter or 3/4 car to a
tee; but, not being a mechanic, I don't understand most of it.
Aug 2 - It was brought to my attention that there were no links to the Tom Tiller page. Sorry about that, Tom - and everyone else looking for him. There are now links on the All Links page and the Catamount Drivers' Link Page. Thanks to Jeff Tavares for the warning.
Aug 3 - I began the massive task of doing a Jackie Peterson photo page. It's going to take time. Enjoy and savor.
Aug 4 - I have discovered what can only be described as a freakin' mess. The column pages are fouled up, and I hope I fixed it. Column 50 should be about the airplane car and the Pontiac, and then I would hope to add Column 51, which is essentially about the Ray Richards family and Red Meade. Pray for me not to shoot myself before I get this mess cleaned up.
Aug 6 - I added photos to the Jackie Peterson photo page. It's a beginning of the stock car section.
Aug 10 - I have heard from the boys on
the Don Miller #11 crew that the freakin' mess still exists. The column pages are fouled up, and I hope I fixed
it. Column 50 should be
about the airplane car and the Pontiac - not model makers; and then I would hope
that Column 51, which is essentially about the Ray Richards family and Red Meade
will open there.
Pray for me not to shoot myself before I get this mess cleaned up. I also was
trying to show another of my older pages to someone on Monday and discovered
half the links to photos are broken. Trouble is, I can't remember which page.
Anyone noticed ? Hopefully, the column thing is fixed; the entire page will have
to be worked on later - no time now.
Later on, thanks to the generosity of the LaFond brothers, I had
some material to add to the Devil's Bowl page. More
of their great tuff is coming.
Aug 13 - I added a few shots to the bottom of the Champlain Speedway page.
Aug 16 - I added more photos to the Jackie Peterson photo page. It's the rest of the stock car section.
Aug 18 - It has come to my attention that there was what I would assume to be an informal stock car track in South Alburgh, VT, out on what they refer to as Middle Rd. I have found, on one satellite service, what looks like the outline of a small oval track. On Terraserver [which I think is currently the newest images] the oval is scarcely visible. If anyone knows anything about this track, I'd like to know. Below is a neat old photo of Perley Densmore, a regular at the Webster Flat and Northeastern speedways.

Perley Densmore, who might be most noted for
his wife, Mabel's bad crash in a
powder puff race at Northeastern Speedway.
Aug 26 - I have had a ton of material come in lately, and I have to process it while I still have permission to handle it. Keep checking in with us - there will eventually be time to stick some stuff on. This means there isn't much time to update the web site. I will be taking some time to put stuff on as soon as I have caught up with this processing. I did stick a few shots near the bottom of the Pine Bowl Speedway page. I also put some more shots on the Mike Watts Page of Bob Mackey Photos. Thanks for your patience.
Aug 27 - Don Rounds, Jr. sent me a Bill Rankin drawing that is now on the Don Rounds page.
Aug 30 - As we approach the end of August [and summer:( ] I have four photos sent to me by Sheryl Troville whose father, Willie Delisle, drove Tigers at Catamount in the early days of the track. I would guess one of the cars, the Perley Dubuque 36, went on to be driven by Dick More. Check these out on the Catamount Original Flying Tigers page.
Aug 31 - I added a page on Russ Truelove. Betcha 99% have no idea who he is.
