Newspapers were far more important for
maintaining interest in stock car racing years ago
than they are now. While a vastly smaller number of papers struggle to stay in
business
today due to the internet, communnities sometime had two different publishing
papers
in the same town. The papers that were friendly to stock car racing often
featured articles
of varying lengths with some very good information that gives us a memory or an
idea
of what racing was like back in the late '40's, the 50's, the '60's and so on. I
will choose
particularly informative clippings - some time to time - and do what I can to
make them
come alive again. This will be the home page for the various "issues". Click on
the clippings
you want to read.
