Log Cabin Speedway, August 17, 1954.
With tracks in the vicinity such as Veterans' Park, Newport, VT; the East Lyndon Jalopy Track, and Lundonville's Webster Flat all running in 1950, Northumberland, NH's Log Cabin Speedway was a virtual johnny - come - lately. The track did not run much more than a season, but it could brag of having a visit from Presidential candidate Estes Kefauver, and it drew familiar drivers from the area and as far away as Franklin, NH, East Montpelier, VT. and even Northfield, VT.

This beauty was probably not what Gammell drove at
Log Cabin in 1954, but it was built by Ken
Fenoff, who is mentioned in a number of Log Cabin articles.
Not more than a long stone's throw from the site of the Log Cabin Speedway, Riverside Speedway began in Groveton, NH about ten years later. Hanaford, Mills, and Gammell almost certainly drove there at one time or another.
