NEWS & UPDATES

Latest Update

March 1  -  Archived. It appears that not much is happening with the site, but I have been harvesting hundreds of good photos from some new sources. It takes time.

March 10  -  For people [like myself] who don't hear all the rumors all winter, I have a welcome fact that is good news. Mike Perrotte infroms me that he will be helping a group that includes the Howie Commander promotership to "help keep Airborne Speedway going". It is a good, stable group wanting to run the track and Mike's name connected to it will only enhance the track's chances of getting back to where it used to be. The headlining division will be the sportsman modified in view of the shrinking numbers of 358's. That's a good idea, too. Incidentally, I am sorry more stuff is not coming out on the site. My wife and I run a residential care home, and you can imagine how many hoops the various state agencies are having care facilities jump through with all of these virus concerns. Hang in there with me.     I decided to do the next blog - Weekly Blog March 10, 2020 - The Days of Innocence [how different things were when Catamount was started].

March 20  -  I have added the name of car owner Ray Stonkus to the page Racing People We Have Lost Since the 2016 Season. Sorry more isn't coming on the site. My wife and I have our hands full following government mandates with the care home. It takes a lot of time and effort to get supplies to a facility with 21 residents when you can hardly get enough for one couple in their own house. Stay healthy.

March 25  -  I have added a new page called What Were They Thinking - about the hectic 1973 Northern NASCAR season.

March 27  -  Thanks to a contribution from Mike Perrotte, I have added a new page to the Airborne Speedway series called Airborne Speedway 1950's Winners.

March 31  -  I will end my month by hoping everyone remains healthy and that we have a racing season this year. [Can't push that off for five months]. The Airborne Speedway 1950's Winners page was from material I got from Airborne from Mike Perrotte; but the research that allowed it to be sitting there at the track office [or wherever it was] was done by Justin St. Louis. This type of research is grueling and time - consuming, so I wanted to make sure JSL got credit for his work,
