The Racin' Trombley Brothers

While it is Charlie who gets most of the attention, there were, at one time, three racing Trombley brothers around the Airborne Park Speedway area. Bob, the only surviving brother whom I know, informed me that Ron only tried his hand at racing in about six or seven programs at Airborne. Bob raced for at least [I am guessing] four seasons, while Charlie had a career that spanned at least two decades. The brothers came from that racing mecca of Mooers Forks, NY, on the Canadian border, as did NASCAR National Sportsman Co - Champion Dick Nephew and also Dick Goodelle.
It would appear that Bob and Ron only raced on dirt, while Charlie began on dirt and went on to the best part of his career on asphalt tracks all over New York.

which Charlie and Bob drove in the early days. it is not clear what Ron drove for cars in his brief, one - year stint.
