SIGNS OF THE TIMES 2
Early Programs, Buttons, Decals, Logos, and Other Graphics of Early Stock Car Racing

The sport of stock car racing today is graphics heavy because of the ease with vinyl can be used for numbers, ads, signs, and all else that goes with the promotion of the sport. This page is a little celebration of when guys like me used to letter signs and race cars with a paint brush and when the Coke signs and Motor Oil signs which local distributors gave out to tracks were tin or wood. It was a different time than now.

Ladabouche Collection
This is how tracks sent out their promotional releases in 1965. No one had ever heard of email. This is a mailed postcard.

The cover of a program in the 1960's was necessarily simple and never changed throughout the year. Above - Fairmont Speedway around 1963.
