Devil's Bowl / Plattsburgh International Raceway 1972 Program
Somewhere around the time C. J. Richards made the landmark decision to pave Devil's Bowl, he also obtained control of Airborne Speedway, promptly renaming it Plattsburgh Internationa Raceway. That name stuck with the track, with one management group or another, until almost the 1980's. The other significant thing Richards did was to get on board with a publishing business out near Oswego Speedway, north of Syracuse. He started selling a first - rate track program, an example of which is shown on this page. I don't recall how long C.J. stuck with the program but, thanks to his influence, Catamount Stadium kept that type of program until its closing in 1987. I got my journalistic start working for that program with Rene and Linda LaBerge. So, too did the now prominent racing announcer and journalist Dave Moody.
